Oct ‘07-Nov ‘09Fort Weaver Road Widening – State of Hawaii
This design build project widened Fort Weaver Road from two to three lanes in each direction, added sidewalk and center median improvements along 2½ miles of roadway.
- As-built existing roadway topography for design.
- Stake roadway, curbing, traffic signal mast arm alignments, a drainage system with catch basins and GDI drainage structures.
- Layout sidewalk alignment, ADA pedestrian curb ramps and pedestrian refuge islands.
- Stake two new pedestrian bridges – footing foundation, bridge placement, approaches, abutments, piles and pier caps.
- Stake four retaining walls (including one a 1,200 LF wall).
- Report monthly survey costs by category on pie charts and line graphs.
Mar ‘04-Mar ’05 Bus Rapid Transit / Kuhio Avenue Improvements – C & C of Honolulu
Sidewalk extension along both sides of Kuhio Avenue for 14 blocks in Waikiki.
Frequent, multiple design changes and completed on time.
Entire project challenged by minimal elevation difference between existing features and existing roadway; making grade and elevation critical
- As-built topo of Kaiolu parking lot area for redesign.
- Staking of: saw cut for roadway excavation, curbing and sidewalks with ADA pedestrian curb ramps, reinforced concrete bus pads, bus shelter structural features, parking lot improvements and grading.
Feb ‘03-Aug ‘03Sand Island Access Intersection Improvements – State of Hawaii
Staking of concrete roadway with median, curbing and drainage system. The majority of construction, including construction layout, occurred at night.
- Staking on this project included concrete roadway, median curbing, a drainage system with catch basins, a grated drop inlet (GDI) drainage structure, sidewalk, traffic mast arm pole placement, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian curb ramps, and a reinforced concrete bus pad.
